With the Filter Bar in most Q7 windows, let’s cover some examples on how you can use it to search large amounts of trucking software data.

Basic Data Search

The Filter Bar is not case sensitive. Just type something you’re looking for in any of the columns with the same color.

 

Search Multiple Values

Use the | character by using Shift+\ on your keyboard to search for multiple values. A line or transaction needs to contain both of the values you enter in order to appear in the results

 

Take Action Using Data Filter

If you’ve found a transaction using the Filter Bar in windows like Reconciliation, just hit Enter to place a check mark or remove a check mark.

Use Shift+Home or Ctrl+A, then Backspace to clear your filter to avoid using your mouse.

If you have multiple results, hitting Enter will take action on the first item in the list. Use your arrow up or down keys to move through the results. When a line is highlighted, hit Enter to take action on it, even if your cursor is still in the Filter Bar.
